In electronics and computer peripheral component interconnect (PCI), (peripheral component interconnect) bus is an interface developed by Intel around the 90s to connect the CPU with various devices inside the computer (electronic cards) through the motherboard. The transmission rate of the PCI remained anchored over the years to 133 MBytes / s, generated by a data clock frequency of 33 MHz 32-bit. Although PCI has marked a significant step forward in the evolution of the PC, and for the cost both for good (and initially sufficient) performance that have made the spread of mass replacing the Industry Standard Architecture (ISA or aT bus), the first limits were felt shortly after in systems such as servers and workstations, where it is needed for very high speed data transmission.   Comprimi Caratteristica
